52-year-old professional surrogate mother is about to give birth for the 16th time

A truly unique achievement of scientific and technological progress can be called the phenomenon of surrogate motherhood. The first case of successful surrogacy was registered in Britain in 1980. Since then, it has gained unprecedented momentum, being for some an opportunity to become happy parents, and for others – a means of earning money.

The Englishwoman Carol can be called an old-timer in surrogate motherhood. For the first time, she carried a child for an unfamiliar family 25 years ago. Today she is already 52 and she is the oldest woman in the world to earn money in this way. Despite her considerable age for childbearing, the woman does not want to stop, but now she needs to have permission from the ethics commission, in which the main criteria are the age and number of children born.

Carol herself has two adult daughters, financially the woman is also well provided for. Each pregnancy brought her an income of about $20,000. The woman admits that she does this not only because of the money, but because she enjoys giving a new life and bringing happiness to people who want to become parents.

“I just love the state of pregnancy, every time my heart skips a beat from the feeling of a new life under my heart, it’s very exciting,” Carol shared on one of the television shows. The woman gave birth 13 times for eight couples, including twin pregnancies and triplets. I had to have a cesarean section twice. But she is sure that she will be able to give birth to a child again. And there have already been people who are ready to resort to Carol’s services, they have paid for the IVF procedure, which will take place in November.

The last time a woman gave birth was in 2013 when she was 47 and it was the 15th birth, including two daughters. Even then, doctors advised the woman in labor to stop and rest her body, because the next pregnancy could become dangerous for herself and for the fetus. However, the woman is full of determination and optimism.

“ I was about to stop, but I read an article in the newspaper about a 50-year-old woman who carried twin grandchildren, then I learned about a 62-year-old woman who managed to endure a surrogate pregnancy and I want to go through it again. Yes, I do it for money, but I also give joy to people,” added Carol in her interview.
