A photoshoot in honor of the 70th anniversary of marriage, from which the soul becomes warm

These people have lived together for 70 years and continue to love, respect, and look at each other with awe. Unfortunately, the world has changed today and such stories seem like a miracle. And yet – how great it is to find a person with whom you can spend your whole life in happiness and joy!
The couple recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Melvin is 91, Nancy is 86 and they have spent an incredible amount of time together! But when you look at them, you get the feeling that their love has not faded at all.

The festive photo session was held by the granddaughter of Melvin and Nancy, Anna Bening. She is a professional wedding photographer and this was her anniversary gift. The story of the acquaintance of this couple is romantic: they met as teenagers, skating, and very quickly fell in love with each other. When Melvin got down on one knee and proposed to Nancy, she happily said yes! It happened at the city stadium.

On January 6, 1952, they were married at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell, South Dakota. The ceremony was simple but beautiful. The photos were taken in the family garden and cheered up all the participants. According to the photographer, her grandparents had very few photos from their wedding day, so she came up with the idea to fill that gap and photograph her grandmother in her wedding dress. And they found a military uniform for grandfather.

And it was a wonderful life. Nancy and Melvin have five children. Melvin worked as a salesman and ran sheep as a hobby, while Nancy worked at the grocery store, ran the household, and took care of the children.

According to Nancy and Melvin, it is respect, care, the forgiveness of weaknesses, and communication. Respect each other, even if you disagree with something. Show a lot of love and care, forgive and forget small differences. Just do everything possible to ensure that life together suits both. Talk, look for solutions. That, in general, is the whole secret of a long and happy marriage.
