The family for the first time in a long time can celebrate Christmas together, as the last holiday was held in the hospital with a premature daughter.
Simone and Chris from Borehamwood, UK, feared they would never be parents again. Simone suffered a series of miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy due to undiagnosed lupus and Elcher-Danlos syndrome, after which she despaired and gave up trying to become a mother a second time, according to the Daily Mail.
For Simone, this seemed like a great tragedy. But despite this, the couple decided to move on and get married soon.
All I ever dreamed of was to be a mother again. And once everything was booked and paid for the wedding, we found out we were expecting a baby. We were in seventh heaven. But the joy turned into horror.
The woman went into premature labor at 24 weeks, 4 months premature. The girl was born prematurely, she was given 55% for survival. The wedding was planned two weeks later, and the girl had to stay in the hospital for some more time to get stronger. Then they decided not to cancel the wedding, but to transfer it directly to the clinic in order to celebrate it with a newborn child.
Little Elena got stronger, and the family was discharged home in January 2019. After a while, a new surprise awaited the couple. The woman found out that she was pregnant again. But after a series of miscarriages, she no longer believed that this pregnancy would end successfully.
We just petrified. We were not ready to go through this again. But they still went for a scan, and it showed a heartbeat, that’s all. As soon as we saw how the heart beats, we moved on.
The couple had a healthy baby boy named Damien. According to my mother, when she returned home with him, everything seemed like a dream. She couldn’t believe they had another child. But she immediately fell in love with him.
This Christmas, the whole extended family will finally be able to get together at home. If last year little Elena could only be seen briefly, then on this holiday all three children will be next to their parents and grandparents.
