Patty Hernandez, 40, and Carlos, 39, live in North Carolina, USA. Their family is considered a local celebrity, because not every mother delivers children to school in a 20-seater bus.
Patty gave birth to a son just over a year ago and recently found out that she was expecting a baby again. In total, she has been pregnant for 14 years, and she really likes it. She feels blessed, excited and happy
Patty believes that if God does not want the couple to have children, then the woman will not get pregnant again. In the meantime, the opposite happens – it means that in heaven it was decided so.
There are six boys and ten girls in the family: with the age of 14 years to a year. There are also the same age – three pairs of twins. All 16 children’s names begin with the letter “K” in honor of Carlos, who provides for the family with his own cleaning company.
The family spends about £780 a week on food, mostly school lunches. But Patty does not complain about financial problems. Her husband’s business is going well, so she is calm about this. Despite so many children, the family does not receive any benefits. In addition, a mother of many children is faced with the condemnation of others. Few approve of her choice, but Patty doesn’t care.
“We have a huge house with five bedrooms, the older ones have bunk beds, which include five regular bunk beds and one triple, and the little ones have five in the nursery, plus there are cribs for babies.” So many children increase the amount of homework by 16 times.
She does laundry at least four times a week and then spends five hours putting everything in its place. Children have their own daily routine, which includes household chores. The oldest one bakes pancakes, and those who are younger clean up the toys.
Spouses are still surprised that they are raising 16 children, but they have grandiose plans: they dream of 20 descendants so that girls and boys are equally divided. Would you be able to raise so many children?
