“Be kind. Always.” A man finds the sweetest way to uplift those in need.

Author Brad Meltzer once expressed, “Every person you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.” It’s a principle worth following, but Zachary Dereniovschi has taken this principle to a new level.

Zachary is a motivational speaker from Canada who is currently studying medicine at the University of Sydney in Australia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Zach reached his own “personal breaking point.” He wanted to find a way to let others know they are not alone in their struggles with issues like depression and anxiety, which is why he launched the Mental Health Movement.

Hoping to make the conversation about mental health more ordinary, he hits the streets, offering free hugs, a listening ear, and support to those in need.

In one of his videos, his sign simply reads, “If you’re feeling heartbroken or empty, hug me,” and it’s amazing to see how many strangers turn to him for support. Zach’s audience on TikTok and Instagram continues to grow as he expands his mission to touch people’s hearts, one hug at a time.
