Couple transforms old bus into perfect home, especially kitchen

Holly Sashkwatter and Dustin are a couple who have chosen to fundamentally transform their life. They traded their nice flat for a life aboard a self-converted bus.
This 20-square-meter bus was acquired for $7,000 and has become their new family home. The bus change was a novel experience for Dustin and Holly, during which they faced several challenges. The pair needed to dismantle the interior walls thrice, rectify plumbing and electrical issues, reevaluate the plan, and address several routine jobs.
Nonetheless, the final outcome validated all their efforts. They painted the bus in green and brown hues to foster a connection with nature. They placed solar panels on the roof to capture solar energy. The new residence was skilfully crafted.
The bus comprises many zones. In the living area, comfy couches are positioned on each side, with a space between them designated for a dining table and board games. The couches may be transformed into a whole bed for visitors if necessary. Additional storage space is available behind the couches. The kitchen serves as the core of the bus, equipped with all essential culinary equipment. It includes a Dutch enamel stove, a complete stove, a slow cooker and a waffle iron.

The kitchen walls consist of wooden pallets, while the countertop is constructed from walnut. Particular emphasis was placed on convenience: a drawer for cleaning materials is located near the sink, and the cabinets include ample storage systems. Due to spatial constraints, a shower could not be accommodated inside the bus; instead, the restroom has a composting toilet, and showers are conducted outside. The bus has a comfortable bedroom with a spacious bed, accommodating Holly, Dustin, and their two cats for sleep. Supplementary storage areas have been arranged inside the wall niches and under the bed.

The bus has a little workspace and a bookcase. The conversion of the first bus motivated the pair to establish their own enterprise: they now assist others in transforming buses into comfortable residences. Holly and Dustin have never lamented their choice to exchange flat living for life on a bus.
