He decided to marry a disabled person. But what happened at the wedding surprised not only him

The moment when the bride goes to the altar – arm in arm with her father and looking at the groom waiting for her – is always very touching. And it was special for this couple too. 25-year-old Jackie Goncher has been paralyzed from neck to toe since she was 17 years old.

After a spinal injury, while she was swimming, doctors said that most likely she would never be able to walk again. For Jackie, as a former athlete, it was very hard to come to terms with the fact that she could no longer do even banal things.

She was not going to give up, and after six months she was able to get on her feet. However, for the next 8 years, she mostly moved around in a wheelchair.

The most difficult thing for Jackie was just that she could no longer play sports. But a year before the wedding, she nevertheless set herself the goal of learning to stand again and even walk.

The girl’s fiancé knew about this but still could not contain his feelings when he saw that she really succeeded. Jackie got out of the stroller, and was able to walk to the altar, stand the ceremony and even dance the wedding dance.

A year ago, she could only stand 30 minutes, and at the wedding she survived 45 minutes and most of the 5-hour party! Incredible strength and will to live, and, of course, the support of a loved one.
