How the eight-year-old boy received a writing award: How a reader became a writer

As a reader became a writer Dillon Helbig, a second-grader from the US state of Idaho, became a local celebrity. Previously, he differed from his peers only in that he often went to the library and loved to read. And now the queue is lining up for his unusual book. The story of how he became a regional best-selling author is quite fascinating in itself.

Dillon made up a story about his imaginary adventures at the North Pole. And the hero of this story got there in a fabulous way. At Christmas, the boy put an exploding star on the tree. It was this device that helped him catapult to the place where the main action of the work takes place.
The aspiring writer hand-drawn the story in a red notebook, accompanied by his own pencil drawings.

When he once again found himself in the public library of the city of Boise, he quietly put his manuscript among other books. After a couple of days, he told his mother about this, they arrived together at the same temple of the book. It turned out that “samizdat” had already been in the hands of Mr. Hartman, a librarian. He himself read an unusual essay and shared his findings with colleagues. Moreover, he introduced his six-year-old son to an entertaining story, and Kruzen was very impressed. It turned out that the book was written with great humor, which was especially appreciated by the young reader.

“Dillon is a confident and generous guy…He just genuinely wanted other people to enjoy his story,” the librarian commented on the institution’s new acquisition. Now, with the consent of the author, the book has been barcoded and added to the catalog, in the section of graphic novels. The librarians were very impressed with the talent and resourcefulness of the young writer. There was no such category in the history of the institution before, it was introduced precisely taking into account the new phenomenon.
