Jack brought his old father home to be taken care of by his wife but the wife didn’t like it and she did some unexpected things.

Once, Jack said to his wife, “Our grandfather has gotten very old; he can’t manage on his own anymore. We’ll need to bring him to live with us.”

“Where will we put him? We’re already barely fitting ourselves in here, let alone him,” Maria replied gloomily.

“Don’t exaggerate! We always have a spare room for guests. One bedroom belongs to us, another to our daughter, and one is currently unoccupied. That’s where he will stay,” Jack replied.

“Firstly, we often gather there to watch TV, and secondly, when guests come, where will they go? To our bedroom?” The woman continued to complain. Without getting frustrated, Andriy added, “My dear, what are we going to do, leave an elderly person helpless with his illness? Your parents are also not getting any younger, and now my father needs care. And if anyone from your side needs care, we will do the same.”

Maria frowned and pursed her lips. Although she knew that this would happen sooner or later, she was still saddened that it was happening now.

“Don’t worry, under any circumstances, there are some advantages. Well, we’ll rent out Dad’s apartment, and we’ll have some extra income. How much does an elderly person need, considering he gets a good pension?” The man tried to persuade his wife with his arguments.

“Hooray! Grandpa will live with us!” With this news, the parents happily shared with their little daughter.

The husband visited his father over the weekend and brought the essential belongings with him.

Grandpa was very concerned about burdening his children, but there was nothing he could do about it.

“Good morning, Grandpa!” his granddaughter greeted him joyfully. “Let’s have lunch together.”

Arranging the couch and tidying up his father’s things, Maria seated her grandfather in the kitchen.

“Mom, let me help you,” her daughter offered.

“Sure, go ahead, my little helper.”

“Andriy, where are the old bedsheets I gave you to use as rags in the garage?” Maria asked loudly.

“Well, they were completely worn out,” he replied, sounding a bit offended.

“No way! Give them to me, I’ll use them to cover the couch,” Maria insisted.

“They’re in a box on the balcony,” Andriy replied with a hint of resentment.

Grandpa held on, living in the apartment, and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. When Maria was cleaning and removing the bedsheets, she said loudly, “I guess it’s time to throw these away…”

“Don’t throw them away, Mom! They are in good condition. Keep them in the storage room, and I’ll use them for you and Dad when you get older…”
