After the release of the Harry Potter book, storage rooms under the stairs became synonymous with a sad home for little ones. But Karen Adamson proved by her own example that in such a place you can make a real dream house – it is only important to try. In less than a day, Karen and her boyfriend managed to create a funhouse for her daughter, which the little one was completely thrilled with – it clearly shows in her face!
Karen Adamson from the British city of Dunderhall decided to equip her daughter Holly with a place to play and chose a storage room under the stairs for this. The famous wizard huddled in a similar dwelling, only the little girl was much luckier than him – his house went well.
The construction took nothing – less than a day.
There was no need to install a door – it was already there, so the adults cut out a window in it and decorated it with a plinth. They also decorated the window. The couple then painted the inside of the house and pasted brick-shaped wallpaper on the outside to make it look like a real wall.
The house looks like the real thing – down to the details. Karen has added important little things to the house – handles and a working bell, which she ordered on the internet. Later, she plans to hang curtains and put a mailbox there to complete the picture. Inside, the house turned out to be no less interesting than outside – from the furniture there is a sofa and a children’s kitchen, which even has a toy dishwasher and a microwave.
According to Karen, the small house did not cost her much. In general, building a playhouse for her daughter cost her mother less than 100 pounds. But what difference does it make how much the house costs if Holly loves it anyway? Holly loves her house and she likes to pretend she cooks dinner for everyone. So even a storage room under the stairs can become a classroom – all it takes is a little renovation magic!
