My husband booked first class for him and his mother, leaving me in tourist class with the children. But I wasn’t going to stand idly by. I made sure that his “luxure” experience had a little turbulence, turning his flight into a lesson he will not forget.
I’m Sophie and let me tell you about my husband, Clark. Do you know the workaholic guy, always stressed, who probably thinks his work is the center of the universe? I understand, of course, but what do you think? Being a mother is not exactly a spa day either. Anyway, this time it has been overcome. Are you following me?

Well, we were supposed to visit his family during last month’s vacation. The goal was to relax, create family ties and give the children fun memories. Pretty simple, isn’t it?
Clark volunteered to book the flights and I thought: “Great, one less thing to worry about.”

“Clark, honey, where are our seats?” I asked, juggling with our little son on one hip and a bag of diapers in the other. The airport was a maze of stressed families and businessmen rushing to their boarding gates.
Clark, my dear husband for eight years, was busy typing on his phone. “About that…”, he murmured without looking up.
I felt like I was getting a knot in my stomach. What do you mean by “about that”?

He finally put the phone in his pocket and gave me that shy smile that I feared so much.
“Well, I’ve managed to get mom and me to first class. You know how it gets on long flights, and I need to rest peacefully…”.
Wait. A class upgrade just for the two of them? I stared at him, waiting for the joke. It didn’t arrive.
“Then if I understood it correctly,” I said. “Are you and your mother sitting in first class, while I have to manage alone in tourist with the two children?”

Clark had the audacity to shrug his shoulders. How cheeky. Argh

“Ah, come on. Stop being a drama queen! It’s only a few hours, Soph. You’ll be fine.”
As if nothing, his mother, Nadia, appeared with designer luggage in tow. “Oh, Clark! You’re already here. Are we ready for our luxurious flight?”
He smiled as if he had won an Olympic medal and I swear I could have melted under his gaze.

I saw how they walked away towards the first class room, leaving me with two grumpy children and a growing desire for revenge.
“It will be a luxury,” I muttered, with a delicious and evil plan gesting in my head. “You’ll see.”
