Pakistani man lives in a tree for 8 years: how his house looks like

A 28-year-old Pakistani named Farman Ali is known as “Tarzan of Karachi” – he has been living in a makeshift, modest treehouse for eight years. Once a guy chose this way of life against his will.

28-year-old Pakistani Farman Ali gained popularity after a photo  of him circulated on social media not long ago. People are surprised at how the guy could live for more than eight years in a tree house – but once Farman chose this way of life against his will. Having lost both his parents, he was too poor to afford a regular home, and after living on the streets for a while, he decided to build a makeshift, modest tree house.

He built his treehouse out of bamboo, wood and old doors and covered it with cloth. He installed a makeshift bed, a sink, a small oven for cooking and heating water, a battery-powered lamp, and an electrical outlet. Now the guy makes a living helping local residents – washes cars, sweeps and cleans houses, goes to shops and delivers groceries.

Many in return give him water and food, and only a few pay money – but they are barely enough even for his basic needs, not to mention a normal house.

According to Farman, once he asked for help from relatives and friends, “knocked on all the doors,” but they even refused to talk to him. He said that he was married – his wife earned money, and he could not find a job, so she soon filed for divorce. Farman has also turned to the local authorities many times for help, but after ignored attempts, now he only hopes for “almighty God”.
