Parents dreamed of another baby, and when they came to the doctor, they were speechless. On the ultrasound they saw ten eyes

The couple in love dreamed of having another child, but a surprise awaited them. They could not even imagine how well their wish would come true. When they went to the doctor, the couple could not believe their eyes when they saw an entire basketball team on an ultrasound scan instead of one baby. A resident of Texas, 39-year-old Heather Langley, and her partner, 35-year-old Priscilla Rodriguez, can also boast of an unusual pregnancy because the birth their daughters turned out to be so rare that the chance of winning a fortune in the lottery is much higher.

The loving couple, who have been together for nine years, were raising their three-year-old daughter Sawyer when they decided they wanted to have another child.

According to Heather, she resorted to intrauterine insemination with donor sperm and underwent fertility treatment, which she already underwent before Sawyer was born.

We weren’t sure this would happen. This was our first try and it worked. We were so happy we couldn’t wait to be parents again,” Heather recalled.

When it came time for a scan at Heather’s sixth week of pregnancy, the parents were in for a surprise.

At first, doctors saw only four gestational sacs, and then they found a fifth. I was immediately scared when we found out that there would be five of them because I was afraid that my pregnancy would be difficult. I also panicked, because I didn’t know how we would take care of five babies and how we would choose and agree on five names,” Heather said.

But shock soon turned to joy as the couple realized how special and unique their children would be. However, another surprise awaited them soon.

It feels like we won the lottery. We really hoped that we would have a couple of boys from five children. But that did not happen. Around week 19, we had a scan to find out the sex of the babies. The midwife just kept saying, “Another girl.” I couldn’t believe we were going to have five more girls! I just kept thinking, “Wow, so many girls, what are we going to do with all of them?” We will have six in total.

They soon learned that they would be the second parents in the US to have quintuplets. Then the lovers felt blessed by how rare and unusual they were.

Heather went into premature labor at 28 weeks. She underwent an emergency caesarean section during which all five babies were born within three minutes. Due to prematurity, the babies had to spend the first three months of their lives in the hospital. By the beginning of December, all the children were already at home. The older sister got on well with the newborns.

Our eldest daughter gets along well with her sisters, she even calls them her babies. It’s so cute. Now everyone in our hometown knows them, they love how rare and special they are,” Heather said.

According to the woman, she really likes being a mother of six kids, and she is happy that she is surrounded by girls – there is nothing better for her than this. Now she can’t wait to see these girls grow up and succeed.
