Poor 69-year-old Idaho widow works to make ends meet, gets new car and $1,000 from Santa

The loss of a loved one is never easy, as it is a great mental, spiritual and even financial adjustment for many people. For an Idaho resident named Annette, she had to adjust to the abrupt loss of her husband 17 years ago.

Annette’s late husband was the sole breadwinner for their family. He worked as a high school teacher, and that was enough for them to get by. After his death, Annette had no choice but to find a job in order to earn money for her living expenses.

Annette landed a job at school and has remained in that position ever since. According to those who know her at work, she is a sweet and kind woman who is genuinely kind to everyone she meets.

In order to survive amid the rising cost of living these days, Annette tries to be as frugal as possible. In fact, she doesn’t even have a phone! His salary is just enough to cover his expenses and save him some money for a rainy day.

Unfortunately, Annette was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo surgery, which affected her financially. Now that she is cured, she continues to work even though she faces many problems on a daily basis. His car, in particular, has had mechanical issues, preventing it from getting where it needs to be.

Annette never bought a car because it was practical. It was a gift given to her nine years ago by her neighbors, and it is a blessing that she uses it every day to get to work.

Unfortunately, with the mechanical issues well past the point of repair, it was obvious she needed to start thinking of other ways to get around town.

Luckily, Annette was one of the recipients of East Idaho News’ Secret Santa program. An unknown person donates a lot of money every year to give to deserving Idaho residents, and they have allocated enough money to buy Annette a brand-new car.

Secret Santa’s elves, in the form of the East Idaho News crew, traveled to Annette’s home to give her the surprise gift. However, they did not find her there.

One of Annette’s neighbors informed reporters that she might still be at work, so they decided to go to the neighborhood elementary school. Unfortunately, Annette was not there either!

After trying to look for Annette a little more unsuccessfully, they finally found her at home, parking her car. She was immediately surprised to find that the crew was there for her.

Annette received her first gift, which was a check for one thousand dollars. She started crying and couldn’t believe there was someone in the world who was generous enough to do this kind gesture for her.

Before she could repeat how grateful she was for the gift, the team presented her with her second gift, which was a car key. Annette couldn’t help panicking and had to calm down. She was in disbelief!

The 69-year-old assistant kept saying, “I don’t deserve this” and said a lot of other people needed it more than her. Her words reflected how others described her: a gentle and loving woman.

Thanks to the video clip, netizens got a glimpse of Annette’s true personality.

When the news crew started talking to her some more, Annette admitted that she had had such a horrible week after the death of her loved one, so the sweet and unexpected surprise was something that lifted her spirits. .

She couldn’t help but hug the news crew and express her gratitude once again for the generous gift her Santa gave her.
