Quadruplets instead of triplets: How the parents reacted

A pregnant mom and her boyfriend were surprised to be expecting triplets. But they got another big surprise when they found out they had not just three but four cubs! Dad passed out in the delivery room, overcome with emotion.

Any little one is a blessing, and this particular couple received an abundance of blessings all at once when they found out they had triplets. Weeks later, they discovered that they weren’t just expecting three new members in their suddenly grown family, but four.

There’s a 700,000 to one chance of pregnancies carrying quadruplets that are all girls, and Gemma Robson and her partner Andy Raine just happened to beat that odds.

The couple didn’t know what to expect during their routine 12-week pregnancy check-up. They were just thrilled to see their little one, only to be stunned when the doctor announced they were going to have triplets.

Finding out they had triplets was already a big deal for them. They prepared straight away to become parents of three children, only to have yet another big surprise during their 17-week analysis.

During the scan, a fourth cub was nestled comfortably in Gemma’s belly. After hearing the news, Andy admitted he almost passed out, sharing:

“I couldn’t believe it when we were told we had quadruplets, and I almost passed out. »

Gemma and Andy have had several weeks to prepare for the arrival of their four children. Although it took time to grasp the idea, all their worries disappeared after the birth of their little ones. “It’s an amazing feeling to see them here now,” Andy said.

Before getting to such a state, Gemma and Andy first had to go through their heartbreaking childbirth. While Gemma was due to give birth in December, the quadruplets entered the world earlier than expected when Gemma gave birth on November 18.

Initially, Gemma thought there was just a lot of people in her belly with four little girls moving around. However, the next morning she realized it was more than that when she couldn’t get up due to constant contractions.

After her doctor checked her, it was decided that Gemma needed an emergency caesarean and her daughters were born the next morning. The ordeal was difficult for Gemma, but she didn’t have time to process everything that was going on.

Part of her was relieved that she no longer had to carry her little ones in her womb as they were getting heavy, but at the same time she worried that they would be born prematurely. “You obviously still worry that they’ll be fine,” she admitted.

Unfortunately, Andy was in shock and couldn’t remember when his daughters were born. As everyone prepared for the arrival of the girls in the delivery room, it became too much for Andy, who passed out in the delivery room and missed the birth of his daughters.

The father-of-four only remembers waking up with a pillow over his head on the delivery room floor after everything was done. He quickly got back on his feet to show his support for his wife and see his daughters for the first time, and it was an amazing feeling he will never forget.

The little ones were named Dani, Skye, Mia and Taylor. As they were born premature, they were placed in neonatal care and had to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit for at least three months until they could go home with their parents.

The proud parents did not live together but asked their town hall for a house that could accommodate their large family. Besides the four babies, they live with Gemma’s daughter from a previous relationship, Millie Grace.

Although Dani, Skye, Mia and Taylor didn’t return home right away, Gemma and Andy visited their daughters regularly, giving them “kangaroo care” by making skin-to-skin contact for a few minutes. They also prepared for their daughters’ return, making sure they had all their needs ready before they arrived.

One way to prepare was to prepare all the materials for small. While they initially wanted a stroller that could accommodate all four little ones simultaneously, they knew that wasn’t possible. So they opted for two twin strollers instead.

Along with being ready to meet their every need, Gemma had mixed emotions about bringing her daughters home. She admitted:

” I’m really looking forward
