Rescued cougar refuses to return to natural environment and enjoys life as a spoiled cat

It is now popular to keep a variety of pets, which sometimes are too surprising and exotic. And what’s it like to keep a cougar that considers itself a house cat? The puma lives in a foster family of the spouses of Penza Alexander and Maria Dmitriev. He has been very comfortable in the apartment for five years now.

Puma was sold to the zoo when he was only three months old. The cub weighed much less than expected at his age and was not suited to life on the reserve. Then the zoo staff decided not to keep it. But Maria and Alexander took the little one to them.

Spouses share that they had sympathy for the cougar at first sight. They decided to buy it, but the decision was difficult for them. They thought for a long time whether the wild animal would be comfortable in the apartment and whether they could provide him with sufficient living conditions. They nevertheless decided to redeem him and took care of his health. Now, the animal no longer has any health problems.

The couple really love the animal. Trouble only arises with their cat Kira, who doesn’t want to get along with the cougar. The owners reduce it to feline envy. “We used to think of cougars as cats, but they need to be trained like dogs. The animal distinguishes up to ten teams, eats meat, and takes a bath.
