Rich, 48, and Evie, 29, live in Staffordshire. They recently got married and are expecting a baby. The couple met in a bar four years ago. Rich and Evie immediately found a common language, the man invited the girl to participate in a charity project that he arranged. So they began to constantly communicate.
Rich found out about his feelings when he broke up with Evie for a few weeks – she went on vacation. He realized that he fell in love with a beauty 19 years younger than him. The man confessed to the girl, and she reciprocated.
In October 2018, Rich’s father was diagnosed with cancer, the man died just a couple of months later on Christmas Day. Then Evie was always next to her beloved and supported him. This further strengthened their bond. The couple decided to get together in February 2019, and in September, Rich proposed in front of a thousand people at a local theater. Then it was time to meet Evie’s parents.
When Rich met Evie’s 53-year-old mom, both were surprised. Back in the 90s, they worked on the same street and saw each other often. The woman sometimes came with her child – it was little Evie. So the couple found out that they had known each other for at least twenty years longer.
“It was a little weird when I realized that I met Evie as a child, but we just laughed about it. Age is just a number for us, and there’s nothing you can do about it when you fall in love,” Rich said.
After an unusual acquaintance, the couple decided to get married. Due to the pandemic, they were unable to hold the ceremony on the scheduled day. And later, both experienced a heavy loss: Evie’s father died, and Rich’s mother.
Therefore, the couple abandoned the idea of \u200b\u200bholding a magnificent ceremony. They signed, and a couple of weeks later they had a big party for 200 people when they found out that they were expecting a baby.
The couple has long been accustomed to being perceived as father and daughter. They treat all situations with humor and do not take offense. And now the couple joke that they are ready for how Rich will be mistaken for the grandfather of their baby.
“I’ve been mistaken for Evie’s father before, but most people can see how well we get along. The age difference of 19 years does not bother us at all. Marrying Evie was the best day of my life and I’m so glad we’re having a baby with her.”
The families of the spouses fully support them. Despite the unusual situation with the acquaintance and the big difference in age, Evie’s mother approved of her daughter’s choice. She was convinced that a man makes her child truly happy.
Now the couple are looking forward to the birth of the baby, with whom they are going to travel in their van.
