The streets of Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, are heavily populated with stray dogs. The red dog, which we will talk about today, in appearance was no different from other animals. The local population jokingly call these dogs «yard terriers», for obvious reasons. But one of them, a dog named Pew, became famous throughout the country, thanks to his quick wits.
That day, the dog wandered aimlessly around the capital. Passing by one of the city dumps, he decided to turn to it in order to look for something edible for himself. Coming closer, he heard strange and unusual sounds for this place. Looking closely, Pugh spotted a bundle, which was the source of an incomprehensible sound. The dog took him in his teeth and carried him to the territory of the nearest residential yard. Then he began to bark loudly so that one of the people would pay attention to her.
A woman came out to the barking of a dog. At first, she wanted to drive away the noisy dog, but then, she saw a package near him, from which a plaintive squeaking could be heard, and decided to check its contents. What was her surprise when she saw a newborn child panting there.
The crumb, in the truest sense of the word, was dying before our eyes. His blue skin and heavy breathing spoke of this. The dog did not leave his find and looked at the woman with an imploring eye. The woman immediately called the police and an ambulance. The child, without delay, was taken to the intensive care unit.
Fortunately, the child managed to provide the necessary assistance. Doctors unanimously declare that it was Pugh who saved the child’s life, who dragged him in his teeth for several kilometers. This story was heard by local media, who wrote about the heroic deed of a street dog. And after this story became known to the mayor of the capital, he rewarded Pugh with a special collar with his nickname, so that they would recognize him when they met. Pugh, by his own example, showed how devoted dogs are to people and are their most faithful and devoted friends.
