The dog was missing for 16 days: Here’s what he did for more than two weeks

The lost animal was rescued by police after a call from a concerned citizen. The man spotted the dog swimming along the shore in Barnegat Bay.

It was early in the morning when the soldiers received a call informing them of the existence of the dog. The two officers rushed to save the Golden Retriever, which was swimming about 75 meters offshore. Using a motor boat, they immediately found the exhausted and guided him to land.

“He was extremely tired,” the officer said. “Certainly malnourished, starving. He also got scared as he walked away from us. Nevertheless, officers are putting the dog in a safe place until his family arrives.

As it turned out later, the 3-year-old Golden Retriever named Chuck was playing with his owners when he suddenly got scared and disappeared into the woods next to their house. Since then, the family continued to search for him, but he was nowhere to be found.

After more than two weeks since his disappearance, Chuck was first spotted by joggers who tried to approach him, but he got scared and jumped into the water. From that moment until he was rescued by the police, Chuck traveled approximately 2 miles along the shoreline of the bay.
