The fate of a 610-kilogram guy who could not go out from home: What does he look like now

Sudden fame overtook Khalid Shaari from Saudi Arabia in 2013. Then the name of the 22-year-old guy was entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the heaviest person alive at that time. The registered record weight of Khalid was 610 kilograms, and the young man himself had not left his apartment for several years, as he simply did not fit in the doorway.

Who knows how much longer Khalid would not have been able to leave the house, if not for the king of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Al Saud. It was he who, having learned that a 610-kilogram record holder lives in the kingdom, ordered to help the guy get rid of excess weight. He also fully paid for the treatment and took on all the associated expenses.

But even delivering Khalid to a clinic in Riyadh was not an easy task. As it turned out, the cause of Khalid’s excess weight was not only overeating and malnutrition, but also genetic abnormalities that had to be eliminated as soon as possible.

As a result of a series of procedures and the coordinated work of many specialists, Khalid was able to get rid of almost four hundred kilograms of excess weight in three years. Now he could move independently and even perform some of the physical exercises that he needed so much to lose weight.

Now Khalid Shaari is 31 years old, and his weight is about 72 kilograms. He is actively involved in sports and leads a healthy lifestyle. A man is ready for anything, just to never get into the Book of Records again. In any case, not with a record for its own weight.

Khalid is very grateful to Abdullah Al Saud for giving him a ticket to a new life. Unfortunately, the king passed away in 2015, and he did not have time to see the end result of losing weight.
