A woman lives with piebaldism – a genetic feature that is expressed in a violation of pigmentation. During pregnancy, the American hoped that the feature would not be passed on to her child, but she was mistaken.
When I got pregnant, I prayed to God that my child would not get this.
Victoria herself says that for her family, piebaldism is a common occurrence, but she recalls that she had a hard time as a child. She was constantly ridiculed at school because of her appearance and was brought to tears more than once. Therefore, the woman decided that she would not allow Priscilla to suffer, and every day she tells her daughter that she is unique.
My father and I told her a long time ago that her skin is special, like a superhero. When we play together, we put our hands together and say “Super Power”. We all tell her that she is beautiful. I want her to always know this and be confident in herself.
This approach gave its result. The baby constantly looks in the mirror and is delighted with his appearance. Many people who consider the girl a wonderful creature also think. True, most strangers look at Priscilla with fear and disgust. Of course, this sometimes affects the self-esteem of a growing American woman.
For example, once Victoria brought her daughter to taekwondo classes, and the girl asked her mother to change her clothes in another room so that others would not laugh at her legs. According to the woman, this is not the first case.
People look at her, both adults and children. And their eyes are very rough. We take her to the mall, and passers-by almost break their necks just to stare at us. This behavior makes Priscilla insecure. Sometimes people don’t realize that she’s just a kid.
Now the baby’s parents are trying to raise awareness of piebaldism in hopes of making life easier for Priscilla, as well as the lives of other children who have skin issues.
