The grandmother grew her nails for 25 years and set a world record : How she lives now

The grandmother from Minneapolis, USA, refused manicure for 25 years and got into the Guinness Book of Records as the owner of the longest nails in the world. This message appeared on the organization’s Twitter account.

It is noted that the nails of a 63-year-old woman reached a total length of 12.8 meters, thereby setting a new world record. In a video posted on the YouTube channel of the guide, the American admitted that she had not previously disclosed to anyone the reasons for growing nails.

“I kept it to myself until I finally told my children and grandchildren why I was growing them,” Armstrong shared. According to the woman, her 16-year-old daughter gave her a manicure every weekend, but after another asthma attack, the girl died. So, Armstrong “felt overwhelmed” and stopped cutting her nails.

In addition, in the video, an American woman said that she had stopped driving a car, and beauty salon masters refused to give her a manicure. Her grandchildren regularly help Armstrong take care of her nails to keep them beautiful and healthy.

It is known that earlier the title of the owner of the longest nails belonged to a resident of Houston, Texas, Ayanna Williams, who grew them for 28 years. In 2017, their total length was 5.76 meters. It is known that a woman spent 20 hours on a manicure. In 2021, Williams decided to get rid of them. At that time, their length reached 7.33 meters. According to her, she could not adapt to ordinary life because of her peculiarity.
