The groom stops the marriage to propose adoption to the daughters of the bride; here is the reaction of the girls

On the most special day of his life, a man has gained more than a lovely wife to spend the rest of his life with. After exchanging his wedding vows, he got down on one knee and made a touching proposal to his daughters-in-law. Please continue reading to find out their answer.

Dontez Williams and Myshella Burton crossed paths virtually on the dating site Plenty of Fish. In 2017, they decided to put a ring on their love, and after their engagement ceremony, they started making wedding plans. Although the couple wanted to get married in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has delayed things.

Both Burton and Williams were associated with careers that involved caring for children. Williams worked as a case manager at a family service organization, where he helped children between the ages of six and sixteen.

On the other hand, Burton had changed her job from a surgical technologist to an obstetrician and provided medical care to women during pregnancy and after childbirth.

Since meeting his fiancée, Williams had also developed a fondness for his daughters, Abigail and Natalie. Williams said he first met the girls when they were little, and from the start, they seemed to like him.

The soon-to-be-married couple noted that they took it as a sign that they were meant to find each other and be together for the rest of their lives. Seeing her daughters get along with Williams was a nice sight for Burton, but neither she nor the daughters knew what the future held.

On August 13, 2021, Williams, 33, married the love of her life, Burton, 26, in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by their family and friends.

After eternizing his love for his gorgeous wife at the San Marino Club in Troy, Michigan, Williams did something that stunned everyone in the room. He pulled out a paper and began to read a speech he had written exclusively for two people who meant the world to him.

Guests watched in awe as the groom gave a heartwarming speech to the lovely young girls, Abigail, 9, and Natalie, 8. It took several seconds for the sisters to understand what their stepfather was saying. In the meantime, Williams went on and said he’s known the girls since they were little, adding:

“It was love at first sight when I laid eyes on you two. The very first day I saw you two. And I told you that I already loved you. From there, I felt destined to be there for you. »

The Michigan man also reminisced about some cherished moments he shared with the two youngsters, including when he met them on Abigail’s birthday. “I didn’t know you really became a man when you had kids,” he said.

Then Williams took a moment to thank the girls for helping him become the best version of himself. What he said after that moved everyone to tears. “I know I’m a father figure to both of you, and you call me daddy. But I want to make it official and ask, can I adopt you,” added a teary-eyed Williams, who dropped to one knee at this point.

Seeing the beautiful gesture of love and affection from their stepfather, Abigail and Natalie couldn’t hold back their tears and hugged him. It was their distinct way of saying yes to the man they had come to love and cherish as a father figure for as long as they could remember.

Williams explained that the adoption proposal came as a complete surprise to his bride and daughters because he never mentioned it during the wedding rehearsal. Only the officiant was aware of his plans, other than a few friends who the Detroit resident said gave him positive feedback and helped him move forward.

Even Burton had no idea her caring husband had orchestrated such a lovely surprise for his daughters and was touched by his moving speech. While talking about his wife’s reaction to the proposal, Williams shared:

“Myshella was really shocked, but she was happy and just grateful that I intervened. She was really happy that I felt that way for them and said she was grateful to have me in their life. »
