Remy Robins from Abertillery, UK, invited friends to a celebration on the occasion of her fifth birthday, but out of ten invited people, only two came.Of course, the girl expected that on such a significant day she would be surrounded by attention from her peers, so she was very upset when she saw so many guests.
The baby’s family sent out invitations to everyone in advance so that people could adjust their plans for this day, but there was no response from most of the guests. The girl and her parents still had the idea that her friends were just preparing a surprise for her. But all hopes were shattered when, after a long time, no one came.
This turn of events upset not only Remy herself, but also mom and dad. They saw the baby sitting with a sad face on her own holiday, so they tried to somehow cheer her up. However, none of the parents’ methods brought the proper result, and the holiday, it seems, was already hopelessly ruined. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the girl had an autism spectrum disorder, so the baby experienced this failure much more than ordinary children.
Her father, PJ Robins, recalls how it was. We already told her about the party and said that all her friends would be there. But at some point, she turned around and asked: “Mom, where are all my friends?” It was like a knife through the heart. Remy has an autism spectrum disorder, and all the last-minute changes upset her terribly.
Realizing that it was necessary to save the situation, dad came up with an idea. He decided to take a desperate step and wrote a post in one of the local communities on Facebook, where he described the whole problem.
PJ asked people who are nearby with children to come to Remy’s birthday and arrange a party for her, even without gifts. And it worked. About 14 children with their parents attended the celebration in honor of the baby and made this day unforgettable for her. Postcards, congratulations, gifts – Remi seems to have never received so many.
By the way, not only the hero of the occasion was surprised, but also her family. According to them, they did not expect that the man’s post would receive such a response among caring people.
The response was truly overwhelming. Some people still write to get the address and send a birthday card to Remy.
