The man plays tennis without hands: Even more, he is a champion

Egyptian Ibrahim al-Husseini Hamato is the champion in his homeland. But at the Paralympics, he could not show the same impressive results.

At the age of 10, he lost both of his arms as a result of a tragedy that happened on the railroad. Then he got hit by a train and lost both limbs. Because of the stress he had experienced, Hamato did not leave his house for three years, although before that he happily spent time with his peers and went in for sports.

However, young Ibrahim’s love for sports did not disappear: “In our village at that time we could only play table tennis and football – that’s why I played both.”

It took years of training for Hamato to learn how to play without having the limbs to hold the racket. As a result, it was best to play with a racket in your mouth. And he solved the problem of throwing the ball with the help of his own right leg.

Ibrahim himself does not know exactly what allowed him to achieve such success in sports. “I believe that the key factors for my success are my determination, hard work and perseverance in achieving a medal,” the man said in an interview with one of the Egyptian publications.

The Tokyo Olympics was the second in his career for the Egyptian. Prior to that, he was sent to represent the country in competitions in 2016. The man never received an Olympic medal, but everyone who was involved in the world of sports expresses sincere admiration for Hamato.
