The orphaned girl was the last in the orphanage because of her skin, but her adoptive parents did everything to make her happy

Michaela DePrins is a famous dancer who starred in Beyonce and Madonna music videos and starred in the film version of the ballet “Coppelia”.

However, she was raised in an orphanage and was shunned by her relatives due to a skin condition known as vitiligo, which caused white patches to appear on her skin.

One day, she stumbled across a copy of “Dance” magazine and started flipping through it.

“The dancers featured in the magazine seemed so graceful and joyful. I liked what I saw inside, ”recalls the young girl.

She was born in Sierra Leone on January 6, 1995. Her mother left shortly after her father due to starvation, and her uncle placed her in the care of an orphanage when she was only three years.

The kiddos received grades from one to twenty-seven, with the first of them being the most favorite kid who received the most attention and special conditions.

DePrins took 27th place on the list.

She went on to say that she didn’t have enough food, the best clothes or the last to choose toys.

She said: “Every day they told me they wouldn’t adopt me because no one needs a little one with that skin. »

Later, an American couple Charles and Elaine DePrins, who had already experienced the loss of three little ones, decided to adopt Michaela DePrins.

Her new mother is very quickly informed of her daughter’s passion for ballet.

Elaine has enrolled her daughter Michaela in dance lessons.

Michaela was five years old. Despite this, she cannot overcome her complexes and asks her teacher if vitiligo would prevent her from succeeding.

The teacher told her that she hadn’t noticed the white spots on her skin because she was so engrossed in watching her dance.

Michaela DePrins has become a source of motivation for millions of young people living in poverty, encouraging them not to give up, to always hope and to dream of more.

She joined a charity that helps children around the world affected by conflict and took on the role of ambassador for this organization.
