Going on vacation to Germany, 22-year-old American Tia Freeman did not even suspect what she would have to face on the road. The girl went into labor right during a transfer at the Istanbul airport. However, Tia did not lose her head: she refused medical assistance and decided to give birth … with the help of video tutorials on Youtube! Tia found out about her pregnancy shortly before the trip. But she could not even think that she was in her last month.
“I just took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I was sure that I was at an early stage, because I did not have a noticeable belly, ”said the American. Indeed, it was difficult for Tia to guess that the child was about to be born. The girl did not even recover and felt as usual.
Therefore, she decided not to postpone her trip to Germany. The girl wanted to go to the doctor after returning from the trip. Tia flew with a transfer in Istanbul. When she was at the airport and waiting for her plane, she suddenly became very ill.
At first, Tia thought she had food poisoning from the fish served on board the airliner. The girl began to look for symptoms of poisoning on the Internet and realized that the cause of her ailment was not a spoiled fish dish at all. It became clear to the American that she was giving birth.
She went into labor – the baby was on the way. After assessing the situation, Tia decided not to seek medical help. She was sure that she would not be able to speak properly with Turkish doctors in English. Therefore, the expectant mother took a risk – rented a hotel room and began to look for videos teaching childbirth.
After a quick look at helpful articles and videos, Tia climbed into the bathroom, bit her towel, and began to push. The girl was incredibly lucky: after just 6-7 efforts, she gave birth to a healthy boy. Tia cut the umbilical cord, fed her son, whom she named Xavier, and put the baby to bed. The next morning, Tia went to the US Consulate in Istanbul to settle the issue of the citizenship of the newborn child.
There she solved all the problems related to the documents, and then took little Xavier to the hospital. The doctors confirmed that she and her son were fine. A few days later, the happy mother and her baby went home.
