A fan site for the popular performer Beyonce, called The Beyonce World, shocked its readers by publishing unretouched photos of the star.
Later, the site’s administrators regretted their decision and removed the images; however, the photos had already spread across social media.

According to editors at The Beyonce World, the photos were taken in 2013 as part of preparations for a L’Oreal ad campaign. It is unknown how the images ended up in third-party hands.

The site explained the removal of the controversial photos by saying they did not want to cause drama or provoke fan wars. “Some of the things we saw were just horrible. But we simply posted the photos to share her natural beauty and show that she (Beyonce) is an ordinary woman,” the site’s statement reads.

Prior to this, unknown hackers “entertained” the online public by publishing intimate photos stolen from the smartphones of Hollywood stars.
