Mom left the maternity ward only with her son: she doesn’t need a daughter—she’s ugly.

At first glance, Katya appears to be an ordinary pregnant woman. She was expecting children, worried about them, asked many questions to the doctors—everything as usual. She went to the hospital early because she was expecting twins, and the doctors decided to play it safe by keeping her under observation.
Her contractions started at night, and Katya was completely unable to endure and put the whole experience of maternity on her shoulders. But they hadn’t even seen such people, so at exactly five in the morning, the first baby was born—a healthy boy. And at five fifteen, the second baby was born. Both children were in perfect health—except that the baby had a large black birthmark on the cheek.

The young mother was the first to take her daughter in her arms—then she wrinkled her face in disgust and handed her to the midwife. Then she took her son, examined him carefully, and hugged him. We looked at each other, but we said nothing. Strange, of course, behavior, but okay. It was only in the morning that it turned out that this was not okay—Katya wrote a refusal for her daughter: First, their father left me and two children, and it will be so dear and difficult. And secondly, what should I do with such a daughter? Well, if there was still a guy, then it’s a little bit of a pity, they will put up with him. And in me at the same time.

To say that we were surprised is an understatement. We persuaded and explained that this birthmark is easy to remove—but it’s pointless. Most likely, this birthmark was just an excuse to abandon one of the children. And the next day, a young man came to the hospital with his girlfriend. It turned out he was the uncle of this baby.
They decided to take her and not leave her within the state walls. Of course, they had to collect a lot of papers, but they did it—and the baby didn’t go to the state, but to her own family.
