People go to great lengths to receive rewards. A regular mom of a 9-month-old boy, who’s just starting to learn to talk, came up with a little trick to expedite the process.
She articulates the word “mom” syllable by syllable and asks her son to repeat it after her. A tasty reward awaits the child for successfully completing the task, but the little rascal isn’t in a hurry to master speech.
Enter the family’s other member – an Australian Shepherd named Patch. The animal gazes at the treat plate for a while and, eventually,
attempts to mimic something resembling the word “mom.
” Well, it’s just heartening to see that the lesson benefited someone, even if it wasn’t the intended learner.
