One day, groomer Whitney Samuels stumbled across a story on social media about rescuing a shaggy dog. Someone found her on his side, took her to his place, but could not cut the animal. “I knew I had to help her,” she says. “So I drove 45 minutes one way to pick her up.”
As it turned out, the dog is already 9 years old, she sees and hears almost nothing. The new owners named her Lucy. “She was in a terrible state,” the groomer recalls. – There were so many thorns and twigs in her “fur coat”! All four paws were matted with hair.
Samuels took Lucy to the salon and immediately started cutting. She cautiously, but at the same time tried to get the animal out of the “woolen captivity” as soon as possible. Both the groomer and the dog were very tired – but the result was worth it.
“After grooming, Lucy slept for several hours,” says Samuels. She then brought the dog home.
Now Lucy lives in a foster family and enjoys home life. She is much happier than before, and her new owners are happy that they have such a dog!
