The show was created by Nigel Lythgoe, who also serves as one of the judges on the show. In 2022, a small scandal unfolded when judge Matthew Morrison was fired for “inappropriate” social media messages directed at one of the participants. He was replaced by actress Leah Remini from the “King of Queens” series.
